Meet Molly

Hey! Im Molly. Im 19 years old, and I’ve recently joined the Emota Year ONE internship program.

Life before Emota… In September 2021, I went to the University of Manchester to study Events Management for about three months, before realizing that this way of learning was not for me. However, I didn’t give up there. I feel like university was a useful experience where I gained a lot of skills, such as time management. Even though I didn’t want to continue, I still came away knowing I want to keep following my passion for events!

Over the last year, I’ve had a few different jobs, some officebased and some venuebased. Trying these different jobs, none felt like the right fit for me, which left me feeling lost. I heard about Year ONE via my dad, who has worked with WRG (now Emota) many times before as a self-employed sound engineer. He only had positive things to say about the company, so I was keen to find out more. I thought the opportunities offered as part of Year ONE were fascinating, such as the chance to travel internationally and see how the whole agency works together. As soon as I learned all this, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I was excited to be able to take the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the past year to my role at Emota, and I couldn’t wait to learn more.

I’m starting my internship as part of the Healthcare Logistics team, where I’ll be learning the role of Delegate Manager. This will be for four months, and I will then spend time in the other departments: Delegate Experience, Environments and Event Production.

As I write this, all I can say is what an incredible company! Everyone has been so welcoming and helpful. One thing I love about this job already is that it allows you to work as a team, but also individually, giving you that independence to challenge yourself, which is exactly what I was looking for. I am constantly looking to improve and push myself to do new things. The Year ONE program offers exactly that! I see each day as an opportunity to meet new people and create something special.

In Emota style, I had to introduce myself to the business with three fun facts…

  • I have an A Level in Photography, and I love to take pictures in my spare time especially of alternative landscapes
  • I love to dance and I’m always dancing or listening to music!
  • I have a dog called Bella which is my pride and joy
