An effective client partnership at two major US congresses

To ensure that those caring for patients got the recognition they deserved.

Creating two stand-out booths at two busy US congresses is no easy task.

Imagine working across multiple time zones to help our clients Merck KGaA and EMD Serono to recognize healthcare professionals (HCPs) who are caring for multiple sclerosis (MS) patients every day.

This is how we did it.

The challenge.

We were thrilled to partner with Merck KGaA and EMD Serono to create their exhibition stands for two simultaneous key congresses in the US – ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) in Chicago and CMSC (Consortium of MS Centers) in Washington DC. The association focuses on research education for the healthcare community and people affected by MS. EMD Serono is a proud partner of CMSC and wanted to focus their efforts for this congress on recognizing the previous year’s winners of the Nightingale Awards, as well as sharing their TAPP (The Advanced Practitioner Project) Portal and recognizing their fellowship winners. The goal for the EMD Serono team was to celebrate the nurses, advanced practitioners, healthcare providers, and researchers who are working every day to support those affected by MS.

The solution.

Executing full design and delivery, our team created a 30×30 booth and a 30×30 hospitality suite for CMSC, and a 50×50 booth for ASCO. After the return to face-to-face events and six months of planning, the team were excited to be returning to Washington and Chicago for the respective congresses. We provided end-to-end project management, working with our clients throughout the briefing process; partnering with our in-house creative team to ensure that the design brief was met; negotiating with third-party vendors for site services, AV, and build requirements over multiple time zones; and working with the nuances of different local unions.

Our team played a central role in a complex wheel, working alongside various stakeholders across CMSC and ASCO. We pulled all elements together to ensure a seamless, stress-free experience for our clients.

The results.

The booth was well-received by all and a true statement to EMD Serono’s commitment to the organization and its membership.

ASCO, Chicago, June 2–6, 2022

As the world’s largest oncology congress and the first in-person ASCO since 2019, it was important that EMD Serono had a notable and recognizable presence as they welcomed back healthcare professionals to the show floor. A new addition to the commercial booth was Tepmetko, and the exhibit provided the perfect space for meaningful discussion about this new treatment of NSCLC.

CMSC, Washington DC, June 1–4, 2022

We delivered the EMD Serono booth at CMSC, where the recognition of MS nurses and their achievements were celebrated via the Nightingale Awards. The awards recognize significant accomplishments in MS nursing, with recipients receiving additional funding toward the support programs for MS patients and their care partners. For me, a personal highlight was seeing one of the winners… coming on the booth to have their photo taken to show where their picture would be displayed next year.
