Emota wins two EVCOM Clarion Awards for sustainable event production

Emota has won two EVCOM Clarion Awards, taking home Most Sustainable Supplier and Most Sustainable Production in recognition of its leadership in sustainable event production and sustainable exhibition design. The awards celebrate organisations delivering measurable environmental impact through innovation, creativity and responsible event delivery.

The EVCOM Clarion Awards recognise organisations that are driving positive environmental and social change through events, communications and live experiences. Judged by an independent panel of industry experts, the awards celebrate work that demonstrates measurable impact while setting new standards for responsible business and creative excellence.

Winning both Most Sustainable Supplier and Most Sustainable Production is a proud moment for our team because, together, they recognise not just a single project, but the way we approach every exhibition and event we deliver.

Our award-winning approach to sustainable exhibition design

Winning Most Sustainable Supplier recognises the sustainability approach we’ve embedded across our exhibitions business.

Rather than treating sustainability as an additional service or a final-stage consideration, we’ve made it a core design principle through our Enviroplan methodology. Every exhibition programme begins by considering how to build less, build to last, build cleverly and build to reuse, helping clients reduce waste, lower carbon emissions and maximise material circularity.

That approach extends across every stage of delivery, from material innovation and production through to logistics, supply chain and end-of-life planning. It is supported by our measurement frameworks, TRACE and BOSS, ensuring sustainability is designed in, measured and continuously improved.

Today, that methodology is embedded across more than 300 exhibition booths delivered annually for 27 clients, helping organisations create more sustainable events through circular exhibition design, lower-carbon production methods and measurable environmental performance.

Award-winning sustainable event production: AstraZeneca at ERS 2025

Our second award, Most Sustainable Production, recognised the delivery of AstraZeneca’s exhibition presence at the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Congress 2025, a project that demonstrated how sustainability can become both the message and the method.

Working alongside AstraZeneca, we challenged ourselves to rethink what a flagship congress booth could be. Sustainability wasn’t simply communicated through content. It was embedded into every aspect of the design, production and visitor experience.

The booth featured recyclable FSC-certified paperboard construction, reusable flooring systems, lightweight AV solutions, modular construction and carefully optimised logistics, alongside a dedicated sustainability zone that invited delegates to explore AstraZeneca’s environmental ambitions through immersive storytelling.

The project proved that ambitious sustainability goals can enhance, not limit, creative, commercial and audience outcomes.

Measured against a traditional exhibition build, the project achieved:

  • 82% less production waste
  • 56% lower production and waste-related carbon emissions
  • 99% of materials reused, repurposed or recycled
  • Approximately 3,000 fewer road miles through the use of sea freight
  • 88% BOSS sustainability score
  • Almost 8,000 visitors and more than 5,100 digital interactions throughout the congress

The project has since become a benchmark for how sustainable exhibition design can deliver measurable environmental improvements while creating engaging, memorable experiences for attendees.

Leading the future of sustainable events

These awards recognise much more than two individual entries. They reflect years of investment in developing new methodologies, testing innovative materials, building trusted supplier partnerships and equipping our teams with the tools to make sustainability part of every design decision.

From pioneering recyclable structural cardboard for exhibition construction to developing robust measurement frameworks that help clients understand and reduce their environmental impact, we’re continually challenging traditional approaches to event production and exhibition design.

As sustainability expectations continue to evolve across the events industry, we’re excited to keep helping clients deliver more sustainable events through innovative exhibition design, responsible event production and measurable environmental impact, without compromising creativity, engagement or business results.

Thank you

Winning two EVCOM Clarion Awards is an incredible achievement for our team and our partners.

A huge thank you to AstraZeneca for their trust and collaboration, and to our wider supplier network, whose expertise and willingness to innovate helped make these award-winning projects possible.

We’re incredibly proud of everyone across Emota who contributed to these achievements, and we’re excited to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in sustainable event production and sustainable exhibition design.
